Marjorie Taylor Greene tells reporters that Mike Johnson has a “pretty short” window to act on her list of demands as she continues to threaten a vote to impeach him.
“Right now the ball is in Mike Johnson’s court. He understands that he has to be our Republican Speaker of the House of Representatives,” she said. She would not say whether she would move this week, as she had previously promised.
Massie: ‘If his plan is to postpone this to take the pressure off, and keep it going for weeks or days, without even making any move in our direction, then he would simply be much better off having this . vote and put it behind him. It doesn’t serve him or us to drag this out. And I told him that.â€
They want: Guarantees that bills will only be passed if they have majority support (which the Ukrainian aid did not have). Debunking Jack Smith’s investigation into Trump (which the Senate would reject). No more aid to Ukraine (although it is unclear whether more aid will be needed this year). CR will impose a 1% across-the-board cut (although the fiscal year ends on September 30).

Greene wants Jack Smith and Ukraine removed, plus a 1% cut across the board. None of this will ever happen. The motion to leave is dead. Greene embarrasses herself by making threats that she clearly cannot substantiate. No one except Greene, Gosar, and Massie seems to want the House virtually shut down and plunged back into chaos.
Johnson isn’t going to give Greene anything she wants.
It’s over, and so is Marjorie Taylor Greene’s power trip.
