Missouri State's Daughter and Son-in-Law Ben Baker Killed by Gang in Haiti | The Gateway expert

Missouri State’s daughter and son-in-law Ben Baker were fatally shot by gang members in Haiti while serving as missionaries.

Baker’s daughter Natalie and her husband Davy Lloyd were living in Haiti and serving as full-time missionaries when they were fatally attacked Thursday.

Baker announced the tragic news in a post on Facebook.

“My heart is broken into a million pieces,” Baker began. “I’ve never felt such pain before. Most of you know that my daughter and son-in-law, Davy and Natalie Lloyd, are full-time missionaries in Haiti. They were attacked by mobs tonight and were both killed. They went to heaven together. Please pray for my family, we desperately need strength. And please pray for the Lloyd family as well. For now I have no other words.”

The New York Post reports that Natalie and Davy at Missions in Haiti Inc. were founded by Davy’s parents, David and Alicia Lloyd, in 2000.

Missions in Haiti Inc. describes the attack in a post on Facebook:

When Davy, Natalie and the kids arrived at church from Youth tonight, they were ambushed by a gang of three truckloads of boys. Davy was brought to the house bound and beaten. The gang then took our trucks, loaded up everything they wanted and left.

“Another gang came after to see what was going on and if they could help, they say,” the organization continued. “Nobody understood what they were doing, I wasn’t sure what was happening, but one was shot and killed and now this gang went on full attack.”

“Davy, Natalie and Jude were in my house at the end of the property using the Star Link internet to call me,” the post continued. “So they are locked up there, the gangs have shot out all the windows in the house and keep shooting. Their lives are in danger. I’ve tried all my contacts to get an armored police car there to take them to safety, but I can’t get anyone to do that. I’m also trying to negotiate with the gang about how much $ I should resign and let them leave and get to safety. PLEASE PRAY – It’s going to be a long night. The phones are all dead. I haven’t been able to reach anyone for the last few hours to find out what was going on.”

Two hours later, the organization posted an update that read: ‘Davy, Natalie and Jude were shot and killed by the gang around 9pm tonight. We are all devastated.”

News of the killings was shared by former President Donald Trump, who called for the killers to be found.

‘God bless Davy and Natalie. What a tragedy. Haiti is completely out of control. Find the killers NOW!!!” Trump wrote.
