Molly Ringwald talks about her experiences as a teen star… sharing her time in Hollywood was more intimidating than fans realize, as she says she was hunted.
The ‘Breakfast Club’ actress reflected on her early career during the latest episode of the ‘WTF with Marc Maron’ podcast, recalling how it was “taken advantage of” – despite her shy demeanor and introverted nature as a novice celebrity.

She added… ‘You can’t be a young actress in Hollywood without there being predators around.’ Although Molly says she wasn’t sexually abused by anyone, she does feel like she was exploited…although she doesn’t quite go into the details of how or by whom.
Molly, best known for her leading role John Hughes films like ‘Pretty in Pink’ and ‘Sixteen Candles’ – said she found herself in some questionable situations at the time.
She continued… “I have an incredible survival instinct and a pretty big super-ego, and I’ve found a way to protect myself. But yes, it can be harrowing… I have a 20-year-old daughter who is now entering the same profession, even though I have done everything I can to convince her to do something else.
MR has been vocal about her films not aging well in a post-Me Too era. Last month she spoke to Britain’s The Times and called them out Judd Nelson‘s character in “The Breakfast Club” – who sexually harassed her character in the film.
Molly isn’t the only member of the infamous Brat Pack to look back on those days… with ‘Pretty in Pink’ costar Andrew McCarthy releasing a new Hulu documentary about their struggles with fame.
Demi Moore, Rob Lowe, Ally Sheedy, Emilio Estevez and more reunite in the document ‘Brats’.
