The epic story starring Ryan Gosling and Emily Blunt would become one of the biggest spring hits in cinemas. However, things didn’t quite go to plan when it came to the box office numbers.
While The Fall Guy didn’t flop, it certainly disappointed. During its opening weekend, the film made $28 million in the US, when it was originally expected to gross around $40 million. To date, it has grossed over $104 million worldwide.

When could The Fall Guy be released on VOD?
The Fall Guy is distributed by Universal Pictures. This studio typically releases its films digitally first, but there is no information yet on when The Fall Guy will be released on VOD platforms.
Universal’s films are typically available for rent or purchase between three and seven weeks after theatrical release, depending on box office performance.
Smash hits like The Super Mario Bros. Movie and M3GAN were released on VOD six and seven weeks respectively after their theatrical debut. On the other hand, The Last Voyage of the Demeter and Argylle were huge flops, appearing digitally three and four weeks after their big screen releases respectively.
Considering that The Fall Guy underperformed at the box office, we think the film will hit VOD platforms sooner or later. Therefore, the film may be available for rental and purchase from June 2024.

When could The Fall Guy be released on DVD/Blu-ray?
Typically, physical copies of Universal Pictures’ films can be purchased on VOD a month or two after release.
So if our estimated VOD premiere date is correct, The Fall Guy may be released on DVD and Blu-ray in mid-July 2024.
When could The Fall Guy be released on streaming services?
Many Universal films are streamed on DVD and Blu-ray about a month or a month and a half after their release. One notable exception, however, was the aforementioned The Last Voyage of the Demeter, which became available for streaming four months after the release of physical copies.
As with most Universal films, The Fall Guy will definitely be released on Peacock. We estimate that this could happen in late August/early September 2024.
That date applies to the US – it’s harder to know when Fall Guy will hit streaming platforms in the UK. If the film follows the same pattern as the Mario film, it will likely appear on Sky Cinema and Now TV, but this has not been confirmed.
