Trump pretends like he doesn't know his Georgia co-conspirators

An appeals court in Georgia has postponed Trump’s RICO trial until they hear the appeal of the decision not to disqualify DA Fani Willis.

The Atlanta Journal Constitution reported:

Fulton County’s election interference case against former President Donald Trump came to a halt Wednesday when the state Court of Appeals issued an order suspending further work until the appeal is decided.

This means that Supreme Court Judge Scott McAfee, who planned to continue working on the case, will have to wait until the case is returned to him. The appeals court is considering whether prosecutor Fani Willis and her office should be excluded from the case because of her romance with the outside lawyer she hired as Trump’s special prosecutor. The court is also considering an appeal from the prosecutor’s office, which is seeking to reinstate six of the criminal counts in the racketeering indictment that McAfee dismissed.

This is a victory for Trump and his insurgent defendants. There will be no trial before the November elections. Trump will run for president in Georgia against Joe Biden even though he is not on trial as a RICO defendant.

The delay won’t matter if Trump loses in November, but if he wins, it sets up a scenario in which a sitting president of the United States could be a defendant in a state RICO lawsuit. If Trump were president, he would use the Justice Department as his legal team and make taxpayers pay for his defense.

The appeals court’s stay is more evidence that the courts will not deal with America’s Donald Trump problem. Only the voters can get rid of Trump and cleanse the nation of his toxicity once and for all.
