Trump raised a whopping $12 million in one evening this week at the Silicon Valley event | The Gateway expert

Last week, after the mock sentencing verdict was handed down in New York City, Trump announced he had raised a whopping $400 million.

This week, at a one-night event in Silicon Valley hosted by entrepreneur David Sacks, Trump raised another $12 million — in just one night.

The fact that people in blue Silicon Valley are rising to support Trump is evident from the post-New York Times assessment that the political narrative has shifted. No one could have imagined that Trump would receive this kind of support in such a blue area four years ago.

Breitbart News reported:

Trump raises $12 million at Silicon Valley fundraiser hosted by venture capitalist David Sacks

Former President Donald Trump raised $12 million at a fundraiser in Silicon Valley in the deep blue state of California on Thursday, according to a member of the California Republican National Committee.

Harmeet Dhillon posted on X: “Raised $12 million tonight! Incredible support for @realDonaldTrump. Not an empty chair in the beautiful home of @DavidSacks and Jacqueline. I’m happy to see the technology leaders stepping up!”

It was the first fundraiser since Trump’s conviction last week and illustrates the former president’s ability to raise money and build support despite Democrats’ efforts to label him a “convicted felon” and undermine his candidacy to harm…

The fundraiser was co-hosted by Sacks and fellow venture capitalist Chamath Palihapitiya. The two co-host the popular “All-In” podcast.

According to the Times, the original fundraising goal was $5 million — a figure that was exceeded by more than double. About 25 people were expected to attend a dinner as part of the fundraiser, while another 50 or so would attend a larger reception.

In a long message on Twitter/XDavid Sacks explained his support for Trump:

Why I support President Trump

As many press reports have reported, I am hosting a fundraising event for President Donald J. Trump at my home in San Francisco tonight.

In recent years, I have hosted events for presidential candidates Ron DeSantis, Vivek Ramaswamy, and Robert F. Kennedy Jr., as well as several members of Congress from both major parties. I give to many, but support few.

But today I endorse our 45th President, Donald J. Trump, as our 47th President. My reasons rest on four key issues that I believe are critical to American prosperity, security, and stability—issues where the Biden administration has seriously veered off course and where I believe President Trump can lead us back.

Trump is gaining momentum (and cash) at an increasingly rapid pace. People clearly want change.
