Trump shakes down Republican candidates for kickbacks

Trump now demands that Republican candidates and committees who use his name and likeness for fundraising give him a cut of at least 5% of the proceeds.

Politico reported:

“Starting tomorrow, we are asking that all candidates and committees who choose to use President Trump’s name, image and likeness distribute a minimum of 5% of all fundraising requests to the Trump National Committee JFC. This includes, but is not limited to, sending the House file, sourcing suppliers and advertising,” Trump co-campaign managers Susie Wiles and Chris LaCivita wrote in the letter, dated April 15.

They add: “Any breach greater than 5% will be viewed favorably by the RNC and President Trump’s campaign and will be routinely reported to the highest levels of leadership within both organizations.”

The corporate media has embraced the issue, but let’s call the plan what it is.

Trump views the Republican Party as a criminal operation where he is at the top, and as with all criminal gangs, the person at the top gets a piece of the action.

The ex-president is not asking for his cut to support other candidates. Trump wants the money to go into the joint fundraising agreement he uses to send most of the money to his super PAC to pay his legal bills.

Donald Trump is trying to get other Republicans to pay for his lawyers.

The former president has been trying for years to figure out a way to get Republicans to pay for using his name and likeness in fundraising.

It wouldn’t be surprising if Trump tried to sue people who didn’t want to pay

Trump’s latest move is proof that the Republican Party is no longer a political party. It’s a gift and Donald Trump wants his piece of the action.
