Tupac Shakur‘s estate lays down the law Drake …threaten to take him to court for using an AI-generated version of the late rapper’s voice for a diss track aimed at Kendrick Lamar.
TMZ has obtained the order subject to penalty letter fired off by Tupac’s estate, and it calls out Drake for the AI verse on “Taylor Made Freestyle”… saying, “Not only is the record a blatant violation of Tupac’s publicity and the estate’s legal rights , it’s also a blatant abuse of the legacy of one of the greatest hip-hop artists of all time.”
The estate goes on to say that it would never have given permission for this – and issues an ultimatum: demolish the circuit within 24 hours and explain how it was made… or else.
Team Tupac’s lawyers say they have been given permission to “exercise all their legal remedies” if they cannot resolve the matter amicably.
In Drake’s track, AI Pac raps: “Kendrick, we need you, the savior of the West Coast. I’ll engrave your name in some hip-hop history. If you’re being vicious about this. You seem a little nervous about all the publicity.”
In addition to Tupac, Drake’s diss track also featured vocals from Snoop Dogg — all through the power of AI. The real Snoop responded to the song, joking to IG, “They did what? When? How? Are you sure? Y’all have a good night.”
The song even ruffled the feathers of Tupac’s brother, Mopreme Shakur …who told us Drake used Tupac’s voice as a weapon just for a rap battle I didn’t fly with him.
