According to former ESPN host Sage Steele, her 2021 interview with President Joe Biden was “scripted” by network executives.

How a lot of? “Any question,” she claims.

Nothing is real with Biden

In a interview Speaking to Fox News, Sage Steele talks about the “structured” nature of the pre-recorded interview and pointedly said her ESPN bosses gave her a “script” to use.

“That in itself was an interesting experience because it was so structured,” she said. “And I was told, ‘You will say every word that we write out, you will not go off script and go.'”

The story continued:

Many of the questions Steele asked Biden in the March 2021 interview related to sports leagues trying to restore normalcy during the COVID pandemic and vaccine hesitancy among athletes and fans. Her interview made headlines at a time when Biden supported MLB’s All-Star game boycott of Atlanta following the passage of Georgia’s election reform law.

But everything Steele said to the president ultimately came from ESPN’s c-suite.

“On the word. Each question was written and reviewed dozens of times by many editors and executives. Absolute. I was on script and told not to deviate,” Steele told Fox News Digital. “It was very much ‘This is what you’ll ask for. This is how you will say it. No sequel, no sequel. Next one.’ … This went up to the fourth floor, as we said, where all the bosses, the top managers, the decision makers are, the president of our company, the CEO, where they all worked.

Steele said she was unsure whether ESPN had sent the questions to the White House prior to the interview, but seemed confident that was “what happened.”

Sage Steele: ‘Heartbreaking’

Steele said on her new podcast “The Sage Steele Show” that her conversation with Biden was undoubtedly “heartbreaking,” referring to his mental abilities.

“I think it’s really heartbreaking that the people who love Joe Biden and say they really care about him have allowed it to get to this point,” Steele said. “So I’m not even looking at this from a political angle or from my beliefs in anything. This is the human side of it. And if someone is having a hard time, do we let them stay in the spotlight and put them there in the first place if they knew there were problems? Of course they had to know.”

“So for me it’s a humanity issue where I don’t care where someone stands and what they vote for or who they believe in,” she added. ‘Do you really care about that person? As a father, as a husband, as everything.”

Whether Joe Biden will be re-elected president or not is anyone’s guess.

But his supervisors certainly don’t seem to want him to deviate from the script.
