Reese Witherspoon, Al Roker And Bunnie XO were just some of the celebrities who witnessed the total solar eclipse.
The celestial event, which occurred on Monday, April 8, was the first total solar eclipse visible in North America since August 2017. NASA“99% of people living in the United States will be able to see the partial or total solar eclipse from where they live,” including parts of Alaska and Hawaii.
While millions of americans waited patiently for the event, the ladies of The view Monday’s episode began with a discussion about the solar eclipse craze, starting with a warning about looking at the sun without the right glasses.
“You won’t be blinded by the lights unless you do something stupid like that,” says cohost Whoopi Goldberg began before a 2017 photo of the former president Donald Trump staring at the eclipse without glasses flashed across the screen. “Today’s solar eclipse is apparently causing a nationwide frenzy with viewing parties and early school closures. Some people [are] even warning that it is a sign from God.”
Goldberg, 68, continued: “Listen. Let’s be very clear. Unless you know the glasses you have are eclipse glasses, don’t put them on to look at the sun… It will blind you. Do not do it!”

Al Roker
The Today show cohost shared a video from a park in Dallas, Texas, where clouds were visible in the sky.
“I see sunshine, oh baby!” he said in the video. “Hold on, just a few more hours, that’s all we ask.”
In a separate one Instagram post, Roker shared a sweet photo of his dog Pepper wearing eclipse glasses.
Kelly Ripa
The Live with Kelly and Mark cohost posted a photo of the sun to her Instagram Story and wrote over the photo, “I’m afraid to look. Is it still there?”

“It’s really great to see coverage of something that everyone can get excited about,” said Haines, 46. “Children are enthusiastic, schools had taken this into account. It’s nice to put that focus on something that really matters, which we don’t see often.”

The Real Housewives of Orange County alum poked fun at the solar eclipse by lip-syncing Taylor Swift‘Anti-Hero’ text.
“I look directly at the sun, but never in the mirror,” she told the camera before putting on a pair of sunglasses.
She added in the caption: ‘Reminder that NASA says that looking at the sun during the eclipse without proper protection ‘will immediately cause serious eye damage.’ 😎☀️ eclipse safe.”

The Drew Barrymore Show host put on eclipse glasses as she stared out the window of her home, to share with fans that she was also doing some spring cleaning for a “fresh slate.”
