This month, a state-of-the-art Russian nuclear submarine was discovered off the coast of Britain. RadarOnline.com learned – which led to an emergency defense meeting.

In a surprising development that follows Vladimir Putin promised retaliation against the West for providing new military and financial support to Ukraine, it was revealed that a nuclear submarine called the Kazan spotted off the coast of Ireland on June 5.

On June 5, a nuclear submarine, the Kazan, was spotted off the coast of Ireland.

The Kazan, which was described as a Yasen-class nuclear submarine, was reportedly identified by an RAF Poseidon P8 anti-submarine aircraft.

The aircraft had deployed sonar buoys to detect subsurface activity that ultimately pinpointed the submarine’s location.

The ship was continued to be tracked as it traversed the west coast of Ireland before heading towards Scotland – all while passing dangerously close to the British nuclear naval base at Faslane.

Military officials feared the 13,800-ton submarine was investigating possible weaknesses on NATO’s fringes.

The ship was tracked as it traversed the west coast of Ireland before sailing towards Scotland.

The location of the Russian submarine was immediately relayed to Permanent Joint Headquarters in Northwood – with both the Prime Minister and Defense Secretary informed of the situation.

The threat posed by the Kazan reportedly sparked immediate high-level consultations within the UK defense hierarchy – especially as the submarine was expected to sail to Venezuela before docking in Guyana, where the Royal Navy patrol ship HMS Trent was recently positioned to counter this. the growing hostility of Russia-backed Venezuela.

If RadarOnline.com previously reported, Putin’s aggressive stance this month came after the West agreed to supply Ukraine with US military missiles and a $43 billion loan backed by frozen Russian assets.

In a recent briefing said Julianne Smith – NATO’s ambassador to the United States – pointed out a possible policy change that could allow the ATACMS to target Russian mainland locations.

Putin’s aggressive stance this month came after the West agreed to supply Ukraine with US military missiles.

“We will continue to assess and adapt to Ukraine’s ever-evolving needs,” Smith said of the development.

Meanwhile, the West’s provision of ATACMS and its significant $43 billion loan to Ukraine have further exacerbated tensions with Russia.

On Friday, G7 members approved the $43 billion loan, confirming it would be financed with interest on about $257 billion of frozen assets held by Russia’s central bank.

These assets have reportedly been immobilized due to sanctions imposed following the February 2022 Russian elections invasion of Ukraine.

Putin promised retaliation against the West for providing new military and financial support to Ukraine.

“It is important to note that it is not the Russian funds, but rather the interest generated from them, that will guarantee the $43 billion loan to Ukraine.” Justin Crump of the strategic risk group Sibylline explained this week.

“Britain’s position is that all the money belongs to Russia and as such cannot be touched,” he continued. “However, it could prove to be a useful leverage when it comes to peace talks.”
