Reem Acra has dressed vice presidents, first ladies and royals. This season, driven by a new silhouette, the designer seemed determined to expand her customer base. “I introduced something new to me – a lot of these shorter pieces give a kind of younger vibe,” she said.

In addition to ultra-short embroidered skirts and dresses, Acra added the tiny bralettes, favored by today’s younger generation, to its eveningwear offering, for an even sexier feel. Her traditional chiffon dresses also got a makeover, via scene-stealing deeper cuts in the back. But she didn’t abandon her core styles: Her more conservative cotton piqué dresses were still there, only upgraded in punchy colors like canary yellow and watermelon pink.
